may 2018: mother's day + decor project catch-up & hostess gifts for a royal wedding tea
may 2018
hello dearies,
a belated happy mother's day all! i hope that your special day was relaxing and delightful as mine! mr. dearie, knowing how much i enjoy to eat good eats, whipped up a batch of my favorite pumpkin sugar waffles for breakfast and japanese crispy pork chops, sweet potato curry and rice for dinner. delicious!
during the day, i set about catching up on some projects i've been meaning to completing for sometime. one, was to fancy up a sofa throw blanket. this woven cotton blanket had been purchased by mr. dearie ten years prior to our courtship (and subsequent marriage). now, it's over 25 years old, it still looks fantastic! i've been hording some larger silver sequins for ages, and thought they'd look smashing stitched along the edges of the blanket - giving it a little "something-something". two relaxing hours later and my mission was complete! i'm quite thrilled with the result, and the blanket now has a simple and inexpensive refresh that i think makes a big impact!
this friday i've been invited to an afternoon tea to celebrate the royal wedding of megan markle & prince harry. i've stitched up some special oddments as hostess gifts for my hostesses, and was tickled with how well both the heart-shaped union jack a-door-nment and the coral crabby spectacle satchel turned out!
with school coming to a close and summer vacation warming up, why not consider a one-of-a-kind oddment that show's teachers and child caregivers how much you appreciate their hard work? all darling dearie garments and oddments ship free within the u.s.a. and arrive beautifully wrapped for a lovely presentation!
until my next missive...
xoxo
