winter refresh: january 2017 newsletter

happy 2017, dearies!

did you make new year resolutions or was your resolution not to make resolutions?!

all this cold weather has me inside where it's warm, (finally) tidying up my sewing studios and refreshing my website for 2017. as a self-confessed perfectionist who's never satisfied, i have been busy adding, updating and revamping the majority of my web content and images. i invite you to take a look and let me know what you think!

two notable updates worth mentioning include complimentary usps priority mail delivery within the continental united states and a re-working of the clothing measurement descriptions. now, you'll see a visual graphic image to help you determine your correct sizing. i think this makes it much easier and clearer, don't you agree? i've placed these graphics on my sizing page and in each respective dress listing in my shop. here is a peek at what they look like:

in tidying up my sewing studios (i'm fortunate to have two spaces but then cursed with double the clean-up!) it's allowed me to reassess fabrics i had forgotten i'd collected over the years. so many ideas i'm looking forward to experimenting with throughout 2017! currently, i'm starting a new x/l super mash-up dress in gorgeous smoky plums. a pretty larger gingham check and a starburst batik make lovely foils to the leftover dr. who/tardis/dalek toile used on a special commission a few years back.

my laid-back luxe dresses are known for their generous pockets, but the pockets for this new frock will be even larger than usual. if all goes according to plan, they'll be the new standard going forward on all my future dress collection additions.

it's never too early to start shopping for your valentine and my oddments give you lots of lovely heart-themed beauties to choose from. will you select heart-shaped vintage button wool felt earrings, my "this and that" heart shaped fabric note cards or maybe an exquisite "a-door-nment" they can hang in a window, on a wall or a drawer or door knob?

on second thought, maybe you should treat yourself, first. charity starts at home, you know!

until my next missive…

xoxo
